COMPOSITE  INSTALLATION   |   STONE  INSTALLATION   |   MAINTENANCE

As a standalone service or as part of a complete supply and install package our consultancy service can be provided to assist clients, contractors, architects and designers with regards to specifying stone, mechanical fixings, installation methods, design and even procure stone prior to the construction stage. We can also provide quarry visits, estimating and value engineering, construction interface advice, maintenance and health & safety management.

Natural Stone Floors

Don't a make the common mistakes; every year we are invited to survey floors undertaken by other contractors which have not been installed correctly. Floors may have suffered cracks and lifting, commonly caused by incorrect allowance for expansion and contraction, especially when underfloor heating has also been installed. To avoid these errors please contact us to discuss your flooring requirements. We work to guidance laid out by the Stone Federation and a technical code of practice.

Choose the right material

When choosing the material for your project we are here to advise on suitability. Marble, Granite, Slate, Limestone and Sandstone are commonly used however not all are suitable for every location. Talk to us for some guidance.

Backing structures and floor build-ups

Stonework, whether it be flooring or cladding, will only perform as good as its backing structure or sub-base. The build-up or fixing system should be in-line with how the building performs and the building layout i.e. allowance for excessive movement, performing under damp conditions, being submerged, whether the surface is at risk from impact, continuous spans of stone, etc.   These considerations are necessary at the design stage to ensure the stone performs.

Does your floor meet the British and European slip resistance standards?

The easiest way to find out is to carry out a Pendulum Test on site,  which will determine the Pendulum Test Value (PTV). Call us to discuss or to arrange an assessment and one of our specialist contractors will be out within 14 days. Or for more information visit http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/geis2.htm   o
