Shortlisted for 'PROJECT OF THE YEAR' award

Picture
We are very proud to have been shortlisted for the Construction News 'PROJECT OF THE YEAR' award for our work at the Burlington Arcade.

The Burlington Arcade is a true iconic London Landmark, steeped in almost 200 years of British history.  Its 200m covered walkway now consists of a 64,000 piece geometric pattern of exquisite British stone.   The intricate design took 8 weeks to schedule, programme and fabricate using water-jet, and  4 months to install by night.

Architect:  Jamie Fobert Architects
Date Completed: July 2015

Feels like a trip down memory lane

We're off to a meeting in London this morning and it feels like we are taking a trip down memory lane: We've just walked past the external cladding we did at the Belstaff Hotel and the Bally Flagship store, the walkway within the Burlington arcade, and then the Lanesborough hotel.

Looking at our work, we cant help feeling a little nostalgic.

But we've got new projects to complete so its onwards and upwards from here :)

Investing in training our workforce

Picture
Thank you to Schluter Systems who came along to our factory and demonstrated to some of our lads.  The afternoon was very informative.

We continually invest in all our staff to keep their skills updated and allow for professional development.

Mingling with celebs at the Burlington Arcade Launch

Picture
It's not nice being walked over - but we made and exception for the elite of British society and celebrities like Rachel Stevens, who walked all over the new iconic walkway we installed at the Burlington Arcade.

The event was a culmination of 4 months work to select the stone, fabricate the intricate pattern and install the 64,000 pieces by night, avoiding disruption to shoppers and traders

There was a huge collaboration between the architects (Jamie Fobert), the stone supplier (Britannicus Stone), the contractors (Polyteck), adhesive suppliers (Ardex) and all the various PR and client representatives.

We are very proud of our work. Well done team.

Clay Pigeon Shooting Team-Building event

Picture
While most employees dream of having the opportunity to shoot their bosses, we actually really like our ones, so we kept our guns pointed solely towards the clay pigeons  : )

The event was won by Rob Mudd - one of our project managers, closely followed by Jamie McGrath - Estimator.
